revolutionizing the job application experience
Inspired by a simple but powerful observation — that the way an organisation presents itself to the world shapes the kind of talent it attracts — this project began.

problem
As an international school competing for top talent across Asia, UWCSEA needed job advertisements that were not only accurate and informative, but compelling enough to stand out in a crowded recruitment landscape — where the difference between attracting the right candidate and being overlooked often comes down to how well an opportunity is presented.
solution
A research-backed refresh of UWCSEA's job advertisement approach — grounded in competitive analysis across international schools in Asia, distilled into actionable mockups, and refined through close collaboration with the recruitment team to ensure the final output was both effective and on-brand.
During my internship at UWCSEA, I took personal ownership of two initiatives that shaped how the school presented itself to prospective talent — a rare opportunity for an intern, and one I didn't take lightly.
For the job advertisement project, I started by immersing myself in the competitive landscape, conducting market research across international schools in Asia to understand what great job advertisements looked like and what made them stand out. I didn't just collect examples — I analysed them, identifying patterns, common strengths, and the small but deliberate choices that made certain listings more compelling than others. Armed with those insights, I translated research into action — crafting mockups that brought a fresh perspective to UWCSEA's recruitment materials. What followed was a rigorous and collaborative process of preliminary reviews with my mentor and team, refining the work through each round of feedback until it truly reflected the standard the institution deserved.
On the careers page, I took a different approach — stepping entirely into the shoes of an applicant to provide unbiased, honest feedback on the user experience. I flagged a critical gap in the navigation flow and proposed a practical fix that would make the application journey smoother and less frustrating for candidates.
